My electric trailer brakes suck.  I have cleaned, adjusted, and rewired them with all soldered connections, and they still suck.

Is there some way to test the brake controller to determine if its working correctly?  Its a Tekonsha, which is supposed to be the one to have.

Do all electric brakes work poorly?  Mine are so bad that they wont lock up the tires even when the trailer is empty!!!

I've been pulling trailers for years, even before I was old enough, without brakes. Never had a problem.

Check out rv.net, I think I saw a thread there a while back that was asking about testing a brake controller. I'd definately want trailer brakes for a carhauler. Even though I got by without one when I towed the jeep behind the motorhome, I wished I had had them (anyone familiar with the chevy C5500 cab? I can't seem to find the trailer brake wire under the dash to hookup the controller).

For adjusting how hard they hit, or balence.  Are you comming out Sat.?   If so, we can look at it then.  I may have my new trailer out there we can hoke up to.  It will definatly tell you it its the controler or the trailer.
