I wonder if the judge was a fellow wheeler that understands how detrimental this guy's actions are for all of us?

OLYMPIA, Wash. - Rickey Sharrot went off-road in a closed state forest area and it landed him on YouTube.

The 29-year-old from Camas was convicted of causing thousands of dollars worth of damage to public forest lands in Clark County and could have easily accepted the typical sentence of community service, but when the judge offered him a YouTube alternative, Sharrot took it.

"By driving around the gate, I caused about $2,000 damage," Sharrot says in the public service message being edited by workers at the Department of Natural Resources.

The public apology and warning to other off-road enthusiasts will be posted on YouTube in hopes it will be watched by an audience DNR enforcement officers have trouble reaching. In it, Sharrot explains the damage he caused environmentally and tells the audience he had to pay for every penny of it.

Offroading in restricted areas is blamed for scarring the natural landscape and causing water quality problems in nearby streams and ponds." __________________

And when should we expect to see the National Forest Service on YouTube apologizing for gating the public off of millions of acres of public lands?
