Hey everyone, I live in Cullman and own/operate an auto repair shop in Huntsville. One of my customers told me about this club after we had been talking jeeps for a while. He mentioned a Cullman ride coming up. If there is one could someone please send me the information.
Also the Tow hooks or other acceptable extraction point... what exactly will I need to get there? Just some d-rings welded on or something else?
And lastly I have an 05 wrangler factory with 30's.... I know it's not much but will there be much for me to do on yall's rides? I do have high hopes for the jeep one day when I have the money available.
Thanks

Welcome to the club.  As for your recovery points, I'll have to let the jeepers help you there.  I'm not familiar with the options for you guys but I'm sure there is a relatively inexpensive way to have them put on.

As for your concern on having much to do, there is plenty to enjoy for a day on the trails even with a stock vehicle when going with this group.

There is an upcoming ride but I don't have the details at hand but I'm sure someone will fill you in and welcome you to join us.

Here's the info on what we are doing. This is actually a work day, but will count as a club ride toward your requirement to joint he club. Your stock vehicle will be fine, I'll be in my unlimited that only has a 2" Lift.

There will be a club work day at Stony Lonesome OHV Park on March 20th. Anyone wanting to attend, this will count as a club ride.

The purpose of this workday is to ride all of the "rockcrawler" trails to determine trail rateings. Also looking for areas where new trails could be added or existing trails improved. So it is more of a riding time.

We will meet at Stony Lonesome at 8:30. Probably be best to meet near the office as we will need to sign in.

Directions are:
Take I-65 south to exit 299 (Dodge City). There is gas available there if needed. Stony Lonesome is west of 65 (turn right if headed south). Continue down the road for about 10 miles (can't remember if it's just short of 7 or 10 miles). There is a turning lane in the road for the park and it is on the left. You should be able to see the parking area with no problems.

There are trails for all levels of vehicles (though stock might have a more limited time). PM me if you have questions.

Robert

Hello and welcome. Yes, D-Rings or shackles welded to your bumper are an acceptable tow point. Anywhere you can safely hook your strap to your jeep and pull is acceptable. Tow balls are not to be used, because they can easy become projectiles.

We look forward to seeing you around, and I hope you'll be able to make the Stoney Lonesome workday/ride. It should be a lot of fun. If not, hope to see you at the next meeting.

Not 100% sure about if I'll make it or not! I should be able to come though. Breakfast does sound tempting. It's prolly been 5 years since I've ate at a denny's when I hadn't been drinking lol!
