I haven't checked this out, but thought I'd pass it on as interesting.

I saw this message on one of the KTM dirt bike forums--thought I would share the message.
I recently accepted a position as a Law Enforcement Ranger with the National Park Service in Texas. I was sent to a two week training course at the Grand Canyon. This training is something every new park service employee must attend. The first week I was amazed and irritated all at the same time. I had to endure two weeks of making fun of the President of the US (I'm not even going to rant about that one, ok just a little, the NPS repo! rts to the executive branch of the Federal Government..... the Pres is literally and figuratively our boss!!!).
Then in one training session, the instructor asked if anyone had ever heard of the Blue Ribbon Coalition. I raised my hand and she said, "Great. Can you talk about the land abusers that make up that group?" I politely declined and she continued. I was amazed that she would be presenting her own personal agenda at a professional training assignment. She concluded her two hour power point presentation with, "The Blue Ribbon Coalition and its sister organization the NRA, are the adversaries of the National Park Service and the land itself. They are the enemy."
The power point presentation did show 4X4's in mud holes, and bike tracks running up hillsides, but she could not tell me if the areas shown were area's designated for off road use. There were pictures of bathrooms that were spray painted with grafitti and one that was burned down. Several had bullit hol! es all over. I did tell her that I have been a member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition for just over two years and that I have been a member of the NRA since I was a child. I received a look of complete hatred.
I asked her several questions and she could not answer one with any amount of accuracy or related knowledge. I tried to talk with her after the class and she would not even look at me.
The bottom line is the NPS is teaching their employee's that we are the enemy. Keep your riding areas clean and stay in the approved areas.
