Another problem I have with not requiring the police to knock is how do you know its not someone doing a home invasion when someone knocks down your front door. Most people I know would meet that with a loaded fire arm thus creating a dangerous situation for the home owner and the police. I've seen them get the wrong house before.

This will have to end up in the Supreme Court. The law seems clearly unconstitutional.
 
I can understand how in the situation described that the police should have gone into the house. There was a reported disturbance and a potentially threatening situation was moved inside to preclude the police from doing their job. In that case, I agree the police should be allowed into the home against the home owner's wishes, busting down doors without court authorization sounds way to much like what goes on in Afghanistani war zone.
