Most engines will run water temp somewhere around the temperature called for in a replacement thermostat....so if the book calls for a 195deg thermostat, then the motor should run normal at 195deg water temp. Oil temp may be substantially higher. Most oil cooler thermostats that I have worked with will open at 220. But some modern motors are running much hotter. HTH |

im running at 210...it will take a few minutes to get there but once it gets there...it stays at 210....

My 4.0L Cherokee runs about 190, per the stock temperature guage, when I'm doing normal driving. It gets up to about 210 when I'm doing slow and go off roading.
