Ounces.  He meant OH Zee, not pounds.  Seriously, I wonder what the real number is?  If its 30,000 lbs, it would still be afoul of the CDL requirements, right?  Isn't there some threshold at 24000?

26001 and up are cdl trucks. If towing a trailer commercially in excess of 10k with a gcwr of 26001 or more its a class A requirement. Commercial is up to the discretion of the officer at a traffic stop. Any truck over 10,000 lbs in Alabama is supposed to have a commercial x tag. Sam's dually has an x1 tag as its gcwr is 12,200. If I tow a 14,000 lb dump trailer and used it for my tree service, it would require a class A cdl. The gcwr would be 26,200 with a trailer in excess of 10,000. I can tow the same trailer with an older version of Sam's truck that is an 11,500 gvwr and only need a regular drivers license.

A young lady got tired of waiting for an electric pickup and made one herself.
