subject:     A Message From BRC's Executive Director

I’ve been meaning all week to let you know that there is an absolute “must see/read” article/video the boys in the BRC Public Lands Department put together for you and posted on our website at: http://www.sharetrails.org/public-lands/usfs-planning-handbook-has-us-forest-service-lost-its-purpose.

Ultimately, BRC has done an incredible amount of work in the last couple of years participating in the process surrounding the new Forest Planning Rule.  This is a good example of why we need you and your friends as members and supporters of BlueRibbon Coalition; so we can be here fighting at the national level. This planning process will affect recreational planning in every forest in the nation and is perhaps the most anti-recreation management guidance we have ever reviewed. Go read and watch the video. You will see what I mean. It’s important.

While you are there, you will find the above story isn’t all there is to see on our website. For example, those of you who have been anxiously awaiting to see what is happening at the Clear Creek Management Area, there is another “must read” from Don Amador over in California at: http://www.sharetrails.org/news/2013/04/29/ccma-hr1776_04292013.

And, there is much more for you to catch up on. Updates on Utah, Montana, Hatteras in North Carolina, Idaho and more all right there on our website at:  www.sharetrails.org.  And that is just the front page. I don’t know of a website for OHV recreational advocacy that is more in-depth or in-tune with all that is happening.

Last, I would be remiss in my role as Executive Director if I didn’t remind you that we are still working on achieving our fundraising goal for the year. Please donate at: www.sharetrails.org/contribute and ask your friends to join and support the BlueRibbon Coalition.

Sincerely,
Greg Mumm,
Executive Director
