I was wanting to know if toyota put a diesel in the 94 (80 series) i think, factory for U.S sales? Any help would be appreciated. Since Bluetoy has left us down here at work, my Yota knowledge is fallen off.

It is my understanding that none of the US 80 series Land Cruisers came with a diesel. All were gas burners and auto. You might import one from Canada, turbo diesel and a 5 speed = 20 plus mpg.

thanks, i seen one for sale, it stated it had a 3.9 diesel in it. Was that even a factory motor or you think could have been a swap? Haven't seen the rig in person.

The Toyota 3.9 was a gas burner. I know Cummins and Isuzu made 3.9 diesel engines. Anyone else make a 3.9 diesel?
