Some of y'all know I've been working on this.  I'd like to do a thorough writeup on here of how I did it but just don't have time right now.

Just thought I'd share what I've got.

Before:

After:

Mount I've built for it which just got painted and is drying in the garage:

That looks great. I want to redo mine sometime. What was your total cost to redo it? I hear there is oil in the gear box, what type oil and did you make a way to change the oil?

There is a place off Comercial Drive that used to do it.  From what I remember (many years ago) it was pretty expensive though.

There's a guy on here that has a rig to do a similar process involving powdered paint and a propane torch flame to make similar results to true powder coating.  I'll let him pipe in if he's interested in making this known.  Wink

Its not paint - that's the name of one business I've heard of in town. Google it. I've never used 'em.

Patrick, I'm not sure of the total resto cost yet - haven't tallied up the receipts yet. I think it'll probably be in the $250 range. Still beats the pants off of the $1500 - 1800 range for a new one. I've still got to get the motor right. Had Kelsey Electric on Commercial drive rebuild it and it's not working now. The armature terminal seems to be grounding to the housing somehow. May take it back to them to make it right.

I did add fill and drain plugs (NPT allen head plugs) which I'll show in my writeup once I get to it.
