Gotta love fail videos like these!  I just wish someone had video of the jackass who hit the Rideout Road bridge back in the early 90s.

I wonder how much of a toll those impacts throughout the years have taken on that old bridge.

One "failing infrastructure" cause found?.....

If you read the web site the owner notes that the DOT installed a metal crash bar ahead of the bridge that has already been replaced once due to numerous impacts.

I hope all those people who rented the moving trucks got the insurance to go with them. LOL

Box trucks with sunroofs!
Down here, last year a wrecker was pulling a drywall boom truck for one of my suppliers backwards and hit a bridge with the boom at about 40mph.  The boom went into the cab and ended up totaling out a truck worth $100k.

Don't forget about the HUNORMOUS steel coils that seem to fall off trucks on an almost annual rate in the Birmingham area around malfunction junction.

I had to do a service call a few years ago cause some idiot in a covered carhauler ( for them expensive rides) ran into the research park bridge @ university. It had a fiberglass roof that had 6 legs/stilts that raised the top with hydraulic cylinders. He folded the roof back on it. I got out there and laughed and told him all I could do was notch the square tubing legs and try to straighten it with a come a long. Needless to say I spent most of a friday cutting up the roof on a 100K+ car hauling trailer.....lol

The state cracked down real hard on that after about the eleventeenth time that happened and pulled over every truck with a coil on it for about 3 weeks. They have a law on the books now that includes jail time for not securing a coil correctly and has a big ass fine for the driver and company as well.
