I am looking into getting one. Warn, Currie, Jeeperman are what I have been looking at. I just found this company LoD that sells a nice looking tire carrier for about 415. There website is http://www.4x4xplor.com/LoD-CJ.html Has anyone heard of this and how can it be so cheap? Does it hold up or just look nice in pictures? I am leaning towards Warn but I don't like the fact that it doesnt have D-ring tabs or a Hilift jack mount. Any help would be nice. Lod doesn't either but for 415 I could get some welded on and it wouldn't be an extra expense. I'd like to have this stuff at my house by thanksgiving when I can get it on and get it on the trail so any help is appreciated. John |

Build one, or commission one from Scoutman. He has built several...all look good, exactly what you want, etc.

Basically everyone I have talked to has said the same thing. I really need to learn how (and get alot of experience) to weld. Welding is the answer for everything: winch mounts, rocker protection, bumpers, tire carriers, roll cages, suspension, body work, basically everything. Once I get my core curriculum out of the way I can take some welding classes at texas a&m and get credit for it. That would be the closest to a class in jeep repair which I have yet to find in the course catalog. I'll send scoutman a pm and see if i can get some pictures. That would be awesome if I could get what I needed built. thanks |
