No. We arent going to post directions to ride areas....this is how riding areas get trashed. The directions are fine to share with club members or post on a private area of the board, but we are not going to post directions publicly. Most of these places that we ride are just through the good graces of the landowners, and we are not going to put that at risk. We scheduled a couple of rides at the club meeting last night, those will be posted to the event calendar probably tonight (as soon as I get a free moment to do so!) and those would be good rides to plan on. Or, if you want, we may look at a particular date that you want to try to do a ride....let us know via here. We want to keep the riding areas protected as much as possible....please understand that -- its getting harder and harder to find good places to ride! Edited by alabamatoy |

Did you ever get those directions? When are you
planning on going? Doc is correct about not publishing directions publicly, but if you really think about it, I'm sure tons of rednecks who live out there, and go there alot will trash it much more than anyone that comes on this forum. If you havent gotten them yet, its not that hard, just let one of us know. Andrew |

I didnt say YOU would. There's lots of anonymous readers of this board. I dont know you and dont know how you act on the trails, but in my book everyone is a good joe until they prove otherwise. Trails get trashed by idiots who throw garbage out, who get off the trails and create new trails, or tear up stuff that pisses off the landowners, or drink while driving on the trails. RCRC practices TREAD LIGHTLY, and part of that means being good stewards of the trails. You will probably see out there at Coalmine that there are lots of these idiots, driving drunk, racing around and generally trashing the place. This is why landowners close good trails, just like they did at Mountain Fork. This club has hauled so much trash off the trails...and none of it was put there by us. I have permission from a landowner on coalmine to be there. Do yall? Be careful. BTW, I went to Mountain Fork a couple weekends back - camped overnight. Its a completely different place since it was all gated. The trash is gone. I hate to say it (especially since it was some really killer trails) but I can see why the owners gated it. WE (the people riding out there) caused it to be gated. |

Sad...
On a more encouraging note, on our last run to Coppinger Cove, there wasn't very much trash out there. |
