Hey guys, not able to attend many meetings but wanted to post up about another stolen Jeep. Maybe someone will see it and call the police. Call me first and at least give me a few minutes to speak with the culprit. 95 YJ. White with black hard top. Stolen from Huntsville Hospital, Black well parking deck this morning about 0830. Tried to upload some pics but wasn't able to. Has black poison spider flat fenders with black rims. Hard top was rhino ed smooth. Will have a back light busted, looks like they backed into the wall when leaving. I'll email some pics if someone will post them up for me. Thanks

This is ridiculous! Isn't this like the 4th MODIFIED jeep stolen in the past three or four months? And all of them in close proximity to the others. This has to be some sort of theft ring going on.
I'm really sorry to hear that man and I will definitely keep an eye out for it.

All I know is HPD is at least trying. I've been pulled over several times lately in my Jeep. Each Time they were just checking to make sure it was mine. Everytime I told them to keep up the good work. I'll keep an eye out for your too! I'd love to have a few words with them too!

On my route I drive thru the Target Super center on Baily Cove Rd and Four Mile Post several times a day and have seen it there within the past few days. Always remember a Jeep.

unlblkrubi,
Ya, I live on the south side and work out at the wellness center. Frequent Barnes & Noble also. Thanks for keeping an eye out. I could only hope the POS that stole it would be stupid enough to drive it around and get spotted. I would love to be the one to spot it also. |

DAMN! Hate to hear that man. My TJ was stolen about 10 weeks ago. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did getting your ride back. I never did hear anything from HPD about mine, after the initial call to tell me they had assigned the case.
I will definitely be on the look out for your Jeep. Wouldn't doubt if it was the same bunch that got mine. Be sure to check with securtiy at the hospital, as well as both gas stations around there. They will probably let you look at the footage from their cameras if you know a time frame. Might help ID somebody.
Good luck. I feel your pain.

Have any of the recent Jeeps stolen had the Sentry key in them. I doubt Maloppas YJ did, but was curious about 65's...

I bought my Jeep used, and it came with only one key: A dark gray colored one. Dunno if that one was the sentry key or not.

sixty5dub, was your TJ the one stolen at Playmore Lanes on the parkway or the other bowling place? I would be curious to know of anymore info on the other Jeeps stolen. I reviewed all the video footage and we have pictures of the individual walking around the deck and in my Jeep. We will be getting these to HPD and when I get a copy I will be plastering it all over the interenet for everyone to see. I may not see my Jeep again, but if I can find out who this guy is that will put a smile on my face.

Drake reports via telephone about 10 minutes ago, he believes this jeep is currently parked in the Holiday Inn parking lot next to the Civis Center. He's called the cops.

False alarm. Sorry. The jeep was VERY similar but it was a Rubicon. Fully decked out. The police would not come by since the vehicle was parked on private property. They said without the property owner's permission or the vehicle owner present they are not allowed to investigate. Sorry for the misinformation but this jeep from the distance I saw looked sooo similar from the back view. |

Man I feel bad on blowing the whistle without getting a closer look but I was in the middle of delivering some stuff to the VBC when I saw it. I called the police and that's when they told me they couldn't look at it. I'm thinking if it is the stolen jeep, it's not going to sit there long if they have any sense so I called Doc and told him to post up here. On my 2nd pass, the sun was behind the trees and I could tell that it was silver and not white.
After I got through this afternoon I went back by because after I looked at it the 2nd time I noticed it was fully tricked out and I didn't see anyone here having one like it. It was a late model silver Rubi on 37 or 38" Iroks, Shrockworks front bumper and custom gauge/switch cluster which I'm guessing were for air lockers/OBA. All the bells and whistles it appears. A very nice setup.
Maybe we need to get together and stake one out as bait and just lie and wait for the perps.

I am in. Can supply time, adult beverages, and a few cans of whoop a$$ as well. Catching these ******* (self edit) would make my year. I like to think that sooner or later one of these pieces of crap will slip up and get caught. Karma has a way of catching up with everyone.

Well guys it was late before I actually saw the email and posts. I went myself and looked and even that Jeep was gone. You don't know how much a appreciate everyone keeping their eyes open for all the Jeeps that have been taken. I honestly think this forum stands a much better chance of recovering any of these vehicles, than HPD. Thanks again and I still hope to post up some pics of the actual event as soon as I can get them released.

I was just coming here to post a link to that story. Ya beat me to it!
I will be contacting the cops first thing tomorrow to see if these two had any of my stuff laying around. GPS, tools, or anything else that was in the Jeep. It's worth a shot!

I talked to my investigator today for the first time. We have pulled the tape and he said he will be trying to get a crime stoppers fairly quick to see if anyone recognizes the guy. I believe that there were two involved, including a second vehicle. My spare and swing arm were all taken off before it was stolen. That stuff wouldn't of fit in the back. Give me about 30 mins with those guys and bet I can get a confession. Yes it would be coerced. They have some other things their looking at also. I don't feel like I will get mine back, probably already parted out. I just hope that they can be caught before anyone else has to go through it. I have relized it is more common than I thought. I've had a ton of people tell me their story of having their car stolen. I think I may look at a Toyota this time.
Wait, thats just the traumatic stress talking. I'm not thinking straight! It will never happen.

Hey Drake, thanks again for being alert and calling. I asked the investigatory if this was how vehicles were handled. He advised that if someone calls and reports a vehicle is known to be stolen they will look at it even on private property. He advised that it is all in how you advise HPD. Sounds like you got the lazy dispatcher that night. At least we know that they will go onto private property for future reference.

They weren't hitting their own neighborhood so what difference does where they lived make? We'll never know how many stolen vehicles they are really responsible for but we will probably see a pretty good reduction in the number of stolen vehicles in S. Huntsville now.
