Whats up guys and gals. Just thought I would introduce myself and my rust bucket. My name is Chris, I live in Harvest. I am not new to off-roading just to owning a 4x4. I bought a 67 Jeep Jeepster that I currently have in about 1000 pieces. My plans are to swap the axles Wagoneer axles are the plan but if some great deal on something else comes along that will change. I have Wagoneer springs and saginaw p/s box. It has Ross Steering now. The springs are going to add about 5 inches in wheelbase and I will have to outboard the front springs. I will be rebuilding the 225 V-6 and the TH400 the 225 will be getting a mild cam, a 4 brl carb and HEI ignition. It has a Dana 20 TC that will be twin sticked. SOA is also on the list so I can fit at least 35's. The floorpans are rusted pretty bad and will be replaced along with the addition of a roll cage. THats really all I have for now. I am in a holding pattern till I get the axles but when I do everything should start moving along pretty well.

Thanks
Chris
Heres how it started

This is the latest pic I have but it is now a frame on jackstands.

Hi...  My name is Lee Anna Wright and I'm the Membership Chairman for RCRC.  We would be glad to have you join us at any of our upcoming meeting, rides or events.  Our Calendar is posted on our website at http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/calendar/default.htm.

Here is some general information about our club: http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.com/about_us.htm

Our monthly meeting is the first Thursday of each month at Golden Rule BBQ in Madison, the next one scheduled on 3/5/09.  The meeting starts at 7:00, but we all usually get there around 6:00 to eat.  At each meeting, we typically set up a ride or two for the month.   (Note:  we're in the process of looking for a new meeting place, so watch the forum for updates)

Along with club rides, our club puts on the "King of the Hill" event annually.  Check http://www.koth4x4.com for some great pictures!

If I can answer any questions, please let me know....

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Lee Anna Wright, RCRC Secretary/Membership Director

Thanks Tex62. Yeah the rare part is starting to be a pain in the but. So I will be fabing alot of things and lack of fabing skills is a problem. But I guess the the only way to learn is to do it. I might be calling on some of you more skilled folks for some tips and how to's in the near future.

Sweet!  I love old Jeepsters!  I like that grill much better than the other one Jeepsters wore.

Welcome to the board, hope we see you at a meeting soon, and don't hesitate to ask for help, there's a few old Jeep fellers on here that could probably help.

Here's some inspiration for you... a Jeepster I saw over in Cumming, GA two years ago.  I was buying a Scrambler frame from the owner and he let me snap a few spy shots.  This one has the other Jeepster grill and got an AMC 360 plant. I've got some more pics of frame, bumpers etc if you'd like 'em.

Thanks bamatoy I would like to take it back original but the body has a lot of cancer and some of the original parts are just to weak for what I want. The pics I posted don't show the half of cancer. I will however keep as much of a original look as possible.
Cj8lvr I have seen that bull nose on pirate4x4 I think. It is a very nice rig but I agree with I like my grill much better. If you guys know any axles for a good price let me know. The stock front is a dana 27 which could be ok but the rear is a dana 30 very weak
My jeep was a early 67 the later ones had a 44. I will try to make it to the next meeting but it will likely be a while before I am able to make a trail ride unless I flintstone it. It will still be cool to meet everyone and get acquainted so when ask for

Do you need the front to be a passenger or drivers side drop?

Rear needs to be centered too doesn't it?  (No offset correct?)

Hey, Are you on the early jeep forum by any chance? My husband, 83K10...John, just posted some pics of our ride last weekend on there, and I think you may have seen them. It's a 78 CJ5...brown with a red grill and windsheild frame. Either way it's awsome to have more early jeeps around and running off road or that will be. I need some sympathy when mine doesn't act the way it should. Wink We have about 4 or 5 CJs in the club.

They have an 88 Jeep Waganeer in the pull-a-part in Birmingham. It was put on the yard in November of 08. It may have the axles under it. It looks like the entire axle is about 80 dollars. You can probably call the store to see if the axles are still under it.
