I used to go by there religiously. Is that motor any different than the straight sixes that came in the early 90 cherokees. I had a 93 cherokee with the straight six and it was a hoss. It was 2wd but that motor was very torquey. I wouldn't be surprised if you could get a newer cherokee like the early 90s models for just a little but more if not for around the same price. But if thats the same motor then it might not be all that bad. I got my 2wd cherokee sitting in my driveway its not its second motor but its still in decent shape |

I've been by there several times...He has a wide selection of different types of Jeeps to take a look at. If you are in the market for a Jeep, this is defenitely one place you want to stop.

Avoid the 2.8 V6 unless the Cherokee is dirt cheap and in really good condition. It's not a very strong engine. It's carburated, not injected like the 4.0 inline 6. Jeep dropped it from the lineup in '87 or so when they got the 4.0. My dad had a '86 2.8 and it was a real peddle car compaired to the '89 I had with a 4.0. He had to have the engine rebuilt twice over a 3 year span. The 2.8's are the best choice, though, if you want to drop in a V8.
