Robert/Doc/AL et al, I am looking for a venue to hold TVR-SCCA's RallyCross events.... I have been using a piece of land in Madison (Greenbriar area) for a while and it is a 10-acre piece of commercial property that could sell tomorrow, next week, next month... I need a better or different site....or multiple sites wouldn't hurt my feelings. We used to do RallyCross at Hsv. Speedway under previous ownership, and with the mudbog and now kart-track= Mr. Pierce at the speedway wants us to run there but has no room. new Southeast RallyCross site under (active) construction: http://www.sedivrallycross.com I have been asking and looking around for a while and thought you guys might know of something since you're off-road more than I. Somebody's got to know someone who knows someone, who knows someone. maybe. I am in search of: * at least a ten-acre field, bigger and flatter the better. Rolling ok, but we can't have cars jumping and getting airborne. * private property with one owner who is sympathetic to our cause. We can pay nominal bucks for one-day events, but If a landowner was wanting to make serious money off of us it wouldn't be possible- almost everything goes for insurance. We obviously have a zillion-dollar policy that would cover any and all landowners that were nice enough to let us play. * if in the boonies (likely) then some sort of bathroom facilities (this could be worked around with a port-o-let) * A large cow field would work, something that's being planted would be likely too soft and would only be available during a few months a year. Morgan, Madison, Marshall, Jackson Counties?? Any ideas or leads that might help me out would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks... We don't really need any site-prep, we make out a little cone-lined road course in a field and go.... other than displacing a little grass, we do not damage the land in any way. We usually leave a place much better than we find it- pick up any trash and all that. The format is usually 6-8 timed runs, and all runs count /added together for a total time= consistant driving beats one "hot" run. Anyway, if the RCRC nation knows of any largish field that we could possibly do this in, please let me know. I will pay a finder's fee of a free drive in my Rallycar. Thanks, John |
