Take one $15k Jeep and add $15k in aftermarket parts. What do you have? A $14k Jeep. Brad |

You know it. I read all the write-ups at the usual places on the Internet. They all made it sound pretty easy. One guy even said he changed his out in 1hr 15 minutes. B*ll Sh*t. I started on mine last weekend and I'm just about done now. I would say I have about 8 hrs in it so far. I'm just glad all the manifold bolts came out. The 4 center bottom bolts are just about imposible to get to, as you probably know. My factory exhaust manifold had two big cracks in it. I guess all the 1997 - 1999 will eventually crack. Brad |

I tried comming up from the bottom by taking off the front drive shaft but it is easier to just undo the whole intake manifold, and make sure you use hi temp copper silicon gasket maker on both sides of the gasket. I didn't do that the first time and had to take the hole damm thing back off. The thin gasket that they give you doesn't always seal. You need those special ratcheting wrenches to get to the bottom center bolts without spending 2 hours on each bolt.

Betch I know who built that Jeep. Spent about 2 hours talking to him with Doc at Windrock at the top of trail 22 just above 21 Saturday. No rain, so we were just hanging out enjoying the sun for once. Al Edited by alabamatoy |
