There was one parked out front of the dealership on Hwy 72 a couple days ago.  Fugly.  It looks like a 4-door Wrangler with a trailer.  The whole back end, the box, looks like it was just glued on.  The proportions are all wrong, somehow.  The old Gladiator trucks were so cool looking and the CJ8 Scramblers, too, but these new things are repulsive looking.

I was shocked how long they turned out.  You would need 49" tires to make them work off road.

Shelly wants one. I really like them. Nice frame. Metal bed. Dana 44s. Fayetteville had one with a 2 inch lift sitting on 37s. Lots of clearance.

I just joined tread lightly to get my preferred price access for when I order mine next year when the diesel is offered.  Right now they are restricted from using that program, but some dealers are matching the price anyway.  Should end up around $60k for a loaded rubicon diesel.

It tows oki-sh due to the wheelbase being the same as a real pickup truck. Thee best thing of this video is the soundtrack to me. Reminds me of military/government training films. I really like that YJ

I have been following this guy for a long time.  He's a car mag writer etc.  Sometimes he is kinda corny, but mostly he seems informative to me.  He's got close to a million followers on Youtube.

The Gladiator has some real flaws.  Like if he puts the drivers seat all the way back, his head hits the back of the T-top or removable sunroof or whatever it is.  I think he is 6'1" or perhaps 6'2", so he's not THAT tall.  There was something else wacky about the seat, but I dont recall what it was.

I suspect the diesel version will tow better.

Tow rating is actually less on the diesel due to engine cooling issues. Apparently there is no enough airflow through the radiator because of the intercooler. The diesel will definitely proved more pep and fuel economy, though. Sucks that folks my height have a hard time fitting.

yeah, I still have to go sit/drive one first to make sure there aren't any hidden gotchas. My fallback will be either a JLU diesel or Rebel diesel.

37's didn't look that big on that rig.  That Gladiator is begging for two D60's and some 40's.
