Didn't want to highjack Nick's thread, so here are some photos of our '82 Yoter.

Wow, that's cool. First of all, staying married for that long is a profound accomplishment in and of itself these days.
We bought our 99 4Runner from Beaman in Nashville also. They beat all heck outa Bill Penney's price, and since they are not part of the same southeast Toyota distributorship, they were able to get us a 5speed SR5 which Bill Penney said was not possible, not available. |

That's awesome Brad! I wish I had the opportunity to own a brand new first gen. Too bad they don't make trucks like this anymore.

How many people would be standing in line to buy special run of brand new straight axle FJ and pickup Yoters like they built back in the late 70s and early 80's? It would be amazing. I would cash out my 401 and buy all I could.

Wow... thought I had been wheeling awhile....was still in school in 82. Really nice truck you and Shirley had there. Looks like the two of you made good use of it.

A couple of years we towed a 16' Sunline hardside TT to Colorado with that truck. Headed west out of Denver on I-70 up to Eisenhower Tunnels, it was 11 mph wide open in 1st gear. It would not pull 2nd gear at any rpm.
We put about 130,000 miles on that truck and the only failed Toyota part I ever replaced were headlight and tailight bulbs. Great truck.
