Oh, they're not the proponent, the lamestream media has just carried out a very successful 50 year campaign to portray them as such. Worked for an 8A "minority" company a while back. One of the partners was a huge supporter of Kay Bailey Hutchenson in TX (they were hedquartered in Houston). He once said he couldn't believe that any black businessman would vote democratic, that the republicans had done more to support small black businesses than the democrats ever had.
