My buddy is building a bumper for my FJ40 and I am wondering if I should weld it to the frame rails or build some brackets to bolt it on. It has an ok condition stock bumper with a license plate thing that sits on a bracket above the bumper. Its not too good for offroad but is a neat and hard to find stocker. If I were to ever trade with someone they would probably want the original because the cruiser is in good shape. I think it could be cut off with a grinder or plasma cutter pretty easy but what do you guys think? |

I vote weld with future removal in mind, such as make it easy to remove with a 4.5" grinder. |

That's what I'm thinking. Its a lot easier to weld the thing on than making brackets.
