Perhaps someone may be interested in this...I tried one of these Mobius Action Cams.  They are ~$80 from Amazon, theres a link in the Youtube post.  They can be setup to start recording as soon as power is applied, and they record in a loop - about 8 hours on a 32GB microSD card.  Once the card fills up, it starts over-writing the oldest videos on the card.  The camera is tiny, about the size of a old-style pack of small wooden matches.  And they are a HECKUVA lot cheaper than a Gopro.

I may need to get one of those for my Ford for when I'm towing and some jerk cuts in front of me and then locks down his brakes.

I put a dashcam in the Scrambler when I rebuilt it. $35 version from Walmart during Christmas a few years ago. It records HD and will also do loop in up to 5 minute intervals. When the card gets full, it just records over. Even has a feature where you can set it to lock the file when there is a shock to the camera, to save anything from a crash.

I like this better than most as the design is more horizontal with a drop down screen and not vertical design. It looks almost like a radar detector with the screen up. I have it wired to come on with ignition power.

Just before we moved, I got a different one from Walmart for $5 just before we moved. Want to mount it facing rear. I thought Huntsville drivers were the worst until I got out here!

I have this one now mounted in front of the rear-view mirror, and its powered off the ignition switch.  It just records when the vehicle is running.  It seems to do a good job so far.

I have thought about adding one facing each side.  Dunno if I want all that wiring and such...
