From FCC rules, part 95, subpart D:

==============
§95.410   (CB Rule 10) How much power may I use?

(a) Your CB station transmitter power output must not exceed the following values under any conditions:

AM (A3)—4 watts (carrier power) SSB—12 watts (peak envelope power)

(b) If you need more information about the power rule, see the technical rules in subpart E of part 95.

(c) Use of a transmitter which has carrier or peak envelope power in excess of that authorized voids your authority to operate the station.
===============

So I wonder how they are able to sell with the claim that its 8 watts. Other than that, it looks pretty cool, another example of the Chinese beating us at our own game.

I have had a Uniden 510XL for quite a few years in the Ford.  Its only slightly larger at 4-1/2” W x 6-3/4” D x 1-3/8” H They can be had for less than $40 online.  The stupid Amazon link for it shows the BOX dimensions for shipping instead of the actual radio dimensions.

I preferred the 520 over the 510 because it was only a couple of bucks more and it had an RF knob. I'll never have another cb without an RF control.

Both of those radios are good, but lack some of the fancier internal RF filtering in the larger radios.

I like the Uniden 68 radios, but I think they may have quit making them like they used to. I bought 3 of them used off ebay.
