I have followed Larry Lessig on and off for a long time primarily because of his commentary on internet law, copyright and government interference.  He is a liberal but he is also a profoundly clear thinker, and has some incredibly insightful ideas and observations we can all learn from.  This is a 13 minute talk he gave on the corruption that is ruining our Republic, given at a recent TED conference.  Some of the stats he cites in the first few minutes are pretty startling.
