see below forwarded message - i'm not sure if this will become a well-publicized issue. the below-referenced FEC statute can be found near the top of the page at: http://www.sebastiangibsonlaw.
in addition to Obama's website, I also checked Romney's site; unlike Obama's, it prohibits contributions from people under 18. if you're in agreement, COMPLAIN TO THE FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISSION!!! (http://www.fec.gov/pages/ ------------------------------ Office of General Counsel Federal Election Commission 999 E St NW Washington, DC 20463 To Whom It May Concern: Please let this letter serve as my official complaint against the Barack Obama presidential campaign (http://www.barackobama.com). My complaint is focused on this campaign’s apparent violation of Section 441k.1 (Prohibition of contributions by minors) of the Federal Election Campaign Law. I refer you to the following section of the campaign’s website: http://www.barackobama.com/ Please scroll down to para 7(c), which infers that this campaign will accept contributions from minors as young as age 16. Clearly, this premise is in conflict with Section 441k.1, “An individual who is 17 years old or younger shall not make a contribution to a candidate or a contribution or donation to a committee of a political party.” Than you for your investigation of this matter; I await your prompt reply. |
