My Harbor Freight plasma cutter finally died and I need to replace it.  I'm looking at a Hypertherm Powermax30 and yes, I know one just sold on the forum.

Does anyone have any other recommendations and know of a good place to buy one.

Thanks, Bob

I have the powermax 30 and love it.  It's great for 1/4" and down which is realistically what I'd be using it for anyway.  Any thicker and I'll grab the torch.

I got mine from Airgas off Waltriana, just south of 565.  Go by there and talk to Cliff.  Jake and I both have done a good bit of business there.  Wink

Edit, Jake and Case can both attest as to how well this machine cuts.

I've used the same machine as well and I really like it. There is a big difference in clarity of the cut between it and the cheaper machines. I've used a lincoln pro cut 55 a good bit as well and I would definitely take the hypertherm over it. I like it well enough I've thought about selling my Parker and buying a powermax 30.  BTW it will do more than 1/4 without a problem.

Friday, I bought a Hypertherm Powermax30 from Airgas for just over $1000 including tax.  I was using it yesterday and it works great!! Big smile

Cliff wasn't in on Friday, but I talked to Rebbecca and she gave me a good price.  I ended up buying it from the Decatur store because he was able to match Rebbecca's price and it's a lot closer to home.
