I found a good deal on 4 1/2" grinders.  Home Depot has an online only promotion of a 2 pack of Ryobi 4 1/2" grinders for $39.97. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDi splay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&pr oductId=100596747&N=10000003+90401+527282

I received mine today and they seem to be well built, a lot better than HF.  I'll be trying one out this weekend.

it "works" fine...just doesn't have the power.  Of course I was in a bind and only needed it one time so i bought the littler 9.6volt maybe?  Anyway it did its one duty...barely

Thanks Bob & DRM for the info.  My two grinders arrived yesterday.  I already had a 4" Makita and a 4-1/2" Dewalt, but I still found myself having to swap grinding wheels for cutting wheels for brushes............  For $22 each, delivered, its a very good deal.

Mine arrived yesterday as well.  You got off a little cheaper than I did with TN sales tax, but still, I paid less than $26.50 ea., delivered.

And I got them for the same reason - tired of swapping between flap discs, cutting wheels, and grinding discs.  now each gets their own machine

Ditto, it's a pain swapping out disks.  Watch out for the spindle wrench in the handle, it will vibrate out when you're grinding.

It is, but you just have to keep an eye on it if you are doing a lot of continuous grinding.

Got to use one of mine today - and I'll say it too, I am impressed, all things considered.

The long cord is definately a plus.  Feel and sound of the gear box are WAY better than the cheapo HF unit, which is not much less than these were.  I really like the side switch location, and I like how it doesn't have the stupid safety switch so you can actually turn turn this on and leave it on without touching the switch (a nice feature when you're swapping between the grinder and welder without taking the heavy welding gloves off).

Over all - WELL worth the money spent
