I'm almost convienced I need to swap the 35 for an 8.8, these can be had for cheap.

I have been to yards in Birmingham, but none in the H'ville area.........................

I like the A-72 East yard, they still let you walk around and pull it yourself. Can't remember the name of the one north on the parkway by Seieger Lane. Been there once. There is also one on Hobbs Island Road near Owens Crossroads I got exhaust manifolds for the Waggy from (only place I could find them).

My buddy has an 8.8 out of a '95 F150 , it has a busted carrier, but if you're planning on buying gears and a locker you won't need the carrier anyways. If you want it just make an offer.
