As you may know, my Jeep is my daily driver and a newer vehicle, so I'm trying to figure out a way to keep it looking decent.  About once a year I spend a weekend with the DA buffer making the paint look near new again, but I'm looking for something to help that hold up in the interim.
Been looking at some of the armor on the market, and most of it seems heavy and not really suited for something taken off road a handful of times a year.  Linex is an option that some go with, but again there is weight and a big cost factor there.

The closest middle ground I'm seeing is magnetic armor.  It's made out of magnetic sign material like you'd see on someone's truck door advertising their business or a sports logo.  Seems like it would keep the scratches away, without being overly heavy and expensive.  Anyone try it before?

The other option is a vinyl wrap.  I've read a few articles where folks used it on their off roader and it held up pretty well.  That would provide longer term protection, as you have to take the mag armor off occasionally to clean the water carried grit from behind it.  But I still question durability of a wrap with the tree limbs.

I realize you can't prevent it all, but it seems like there are some products that can go a long way in helping mitigate risk of damage that would require a repaint.

And we might be looking to upgrade so we can carry Jackson, so there's a certain red one that might end up for sale.  Wink
